not a Singapore model, although I am impressed by its growth. Some
people want to make this into a Singapore or New York or Dubai but I
always said Sri Lanka should become a model by itself, stated

A half century in politics
My mind goes back to September 1956 when I first
met Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka at the Ceylon Students’ Centre in
London, when I went there to attend a meeting of the Ceylon
