Six suspects remanded

Six suspects arrested in connection with the killings of the Chief Incumbent of Gampola Thembiligala Sri Bodhirukkarama temple and another person by a grenade attack have been remanded till March 14 by Gampola Additional Magistrate. The suspects are said to be supporters of defeated Presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka. Two of the suspects are serving members of the Army and another an army deserter.

Ven Matara Wimalananda Thera (80) and Wasantha Kumara were killed in the grenade attack aimed at the UPFA supporters on the day following the Presidential Election.

A Police team led by Gampola SSP Roshan Fernando are conducting the investigation.
