President tells candidates in Anuradhapura:

UPFA will form stable Govt

President Mahinda Rajapaksa predicted that the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) would form a stable Government at the conclusion of the April 8 parliamentary elections in line with the people’s expectations.

Ninety nine nominations rejected

Thirty nominations of recognized political parties and 69 nominations of independent political parties for the General Election 2010 had been rejected as their submissions were against the regulations of the election Act, the Elections Department announced.
