Inter-Provincial T20 from today

After the successful completion of the 50 over game the Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial tournament will move towards the shortest format when the Twenty20 event gets underway in Kandy today.

The limited overs champions MAS Kandurata will launch their campaign with a clash against Basnahira North at the Pallekelle Stadiun.

In addition Wayamba will take on Basnahira South at the same venue.

The third match of the opening day will be between the one day tournament runners up Ruhuna and the SLC Combined XI at the Dharmaraja College ground in Kandy.

The tournament will move towards Kurunegala from February 27 and thereafter matches will be worked off at the Colts CC ground and Galle Stadium with the semifinals and the final schedule for March 6 and 7 at the Moratuwa Stadium.

The schedule:

February 24: Ruhuna v SLC Combined XI at Dharmaraja College ground, Wayamba v Basnahira South at Pallekelle, Basnahira North v Kandurata at Pallekelle

February 25: Ruhuna v Basnahira North at Pallekelle, SLC Combined XI v Wayamba at Dharmaraja College ground, Basnahira South v Kandurata at Pallekelle

February 27: Wayamba v Ruhuna at Kurunegala, SLC Combined XI v Kandurata at Pallekelle, Basnahira South v Basnahira North at Kurunegala

February 28: Basnahira North v Wayamba at Kurunegala, Basnahira South v SLC Combined XI at Pallekelle, Ruhuna v Kandurata at Kurunegala

March 3: Basnahira North v SLC Combined XI at Colts

March 4: Basnahira South v Ruhuna at Galle Stadium, Kandurata v Wayamba at Galle Stadium

March 6: Semifinals at Moratuwa

March 7: Final at Moratuwa
