President allocates money for education for 2010

Education Minister Susil Premjayantha, speaking at a school aid distribution ceremony held recently at Bomiriya Central College, Kaduwela disclosed that the Government had decided to allocate a massive sum of money on education for the year 2010. President Mahinda Rajapaksa has created a very peaceful country for our children to pursue a good education.

Also under the Uthuru Wasanthaya and Nagenahira Navodaya, the Government has launched several programs on education in these provinces.

These progressive activities are clearly visible through the vision of Mahinda Chinthanaya, Minister said.

The Education Minister distributed 1097 parcels of school aid among school-children from 40 selected grama niladhari divisions attached to Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat at this ceremony.

Vice Chairman of Kaduwela Pradeshiya Sabha Gracian Alwis, Pradeshiya Sabha members and several others were present on the occasion.

The women’s bureau of the Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat organized the ceremony.
