No security cut to former CDS

The Government yesterday strongly denied allegations that former Chief of Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka had been provided with less security personnel and vehicles than that of former Navy Commander and Secretary to the Highways and Road Development Ministry and National Security Advisor Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda.

Explosives recovered from Peraru Jungle

The Navy Intelligence Team (East) recovered a large haul weapons and explosive materials from the general area of the Peraru Jungle in Pankulam on November 23 morning. The recovered items were carefully contained in plastic barrels and buried in the jungle.
