Screening of 'Path of the Dhamma' tomorrow
The maiden screening in Sri Lanka, of the English language video
documentary Path of the Dhamma: From South Asia to Swarnabhoomi, will
take place this Sunday, November 22 at the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress
(ACBC) Hall No. 380, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07 at 3 p.m. Entry to

Directed by Dr Kalinga Seneviratne and filmed in India, Sri Lanka,
Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Singapore, it explores the
spread of Buddhism from South Asia to Southeast Asia - a region
historically known as Swarnabhoomi.
With contemporary Buddhist practices and festivals as the backdrop,
the documentary examines how Hindu-Brahamic influences and teachings of
the Tripitaka have interacted in the creation of present day Theravada
Buddhist societies.
Furthermore, the documentary reflects the significant historic role
Sri Lanka has played in the spread of Theravada Buddhism across
Southeast Asia.
Path of the Dhamma is produced by the Asian Media Information and
