The draw for the winners in October for the Smart Recharge Bonanza
was held on November 10 in the presence of Ernst and Young and officials
of the Western Province Revenue Department.
The winners of the ASUS Laptops with a 3.5G Internet Dongle from the
weekly draw were R. L. G. Suranga Nuwan Kumara of Vijitha Pura in
Anuradhapura, Mrs. S. Niranjala Senanayake from Medawachchiya,
Liyanawaduge Siripala from Thunmodara in Hanwella, Vitharana Suresh
Anuradha from Barawakumbukka in Hambanthota.
The grand prize of a Maruti Suzuki Alto Sportz car for the month was
won by R. D. Saman Kumara of Gorakawela in the Rathnapura district.

Hutch lowers IDD rates
Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., has lowered its IDD
rates. The Hutch IDD top up card is set to revolutionise the manner in

Janashakthi renovates Children’s Park
As part of its contribution to International Children’s Day
celebrations, Janashakthi Insurance PLC recently completely renovated
the Municipal Children’s Park in the Hatton town.
Deputy Chairman of JIC C.T.A. Schaffter, Chairman Hatton Dick-Oya
Urban Council Allagamuthu Nanda Kumar and several councillors were
present.
Schaffter said that Janashakthi was happy to be associated with an
event of this nature, especially since it involved children. “The
children of today are the adults of tomorrow pre-school education plays
a critical role in a child’s psychological growth. It is an
internationally accepted fact that a child’s formative years are his/her
pre-school years upto five years.
Hence the need for greater understanding and awareness that early
childhood development plays in a child’s emotional well-being”, he said.
The Janashakthi-sponsored International Children’ Day celebrations in
Hatton also included a very colourful art exhibition where the work of
nearly 100 pre-school children was on display to a large and
appreciative audience at the Hatton Dick-Oya Urban Council premises.
