Rajans emerge soccer champs

Dharmaraja College, Kandy emerged champions beating Sri Sumangala, Kandy by 2 goals to nil in the finals of the Kandy District Under 15 Schools Soccer tournament conducted by the DS Senanayake Vidyalaya, Kandy which concluded recently.

Twenty one teams participated in this tournament and in the semi-finals Dharmaraja beat Zahira, Katugastota by 5 goals to 4. (The match was decided on penalties). In the other semi-final Sri Sumangala beat Trinity College, Kandy by 2 goals to nil to enter the finals.

In a friendly match DS Senanayake Vidyalaya Kandy beat Nugawela Central by 2 goals to nil in the same tournament. The Trinity College Soccer team was selected as the up and coming soccer team.

Kapila Dissanayake, Manager People's Bank, Kandy, Thushara Basnayake, Distribution Manager, David Peiris and Co. Kandy and Lalantha Sanjeewa Peiris, Member of the Kandy Municipality distributed the awards to the winners.
