Delivering his message for the United Nations Day on October 24, UN
Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called for all nations to unite as one to
face the great challenges that the world faces today.
“This is a unique moment in world affairs,” said Ki-Moon; “Multiple
crises - food, fuel, financial, flu - are hitting at once. Climate

As people, as nations, as a species, we sink or swim together.
The UN Secretary General further noted the UN’s contribution and
commitment to defeat poverty and hunger, maintain world peace, expand
education and protect human rights.
