Army refute false propaganda

All types of false propaganda are being carried out through certain
media including websites to create a conflict between Chief of Defence
Staff General Sarath Fonseka and the Government.

This should be stopped. Unless this is stopped forthwith legal action
will be taken against the perpetrators of this false propaganda, Army
Media Spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkkara said.
The facts as stated in these reports are clearly fabricated and
groundless and mislead the people, he said categorically refuting false
information.
“General Sarath Fonseka is still attached to the Army service as the
Chief of Defence Staff.
The false reports are well organized, originating from some
organizations bent on achieving their personal targets,” he said.
Explaining about the release of the ten months’ salary loan to 9,000
Army personnel, Brig. Nanayakkara said Rs. 700 million has been released
by the Treasury for this purpose under the direction of President
Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Loan payments of 200 applicants in the Army have already been made so
far, he said. |
