In the penultimate day of the ITF Junior Circuit
(Week 2) tennis tournament at the SLTA Courts yesterday, much was
expected in the Girl’s Singles Finals between the Comparatively
physically well built Indian, D. Mandava and the equally smart
though diminutive Sri Lankan Amreetha Muttiah.

hit a first class career best 153 from 127 deliveries inclusive of
nine sixes and eight boundaries as Chilaw Marians SC piled up 391
for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier
League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match against Colts CC which
began at Havelock Park yesterday.
