Viru Diri Leasing from Central Finance, begins a successful journey
in rebuilding the livelihoods of our war heroes with a donation of Rs.
4,272,500 made to the Api Wenuwen Api fund in July/August.
Central Finance introduced the CF Viru Diri Leasing scheme, which
currently offers the lowest down payment in the island and the lowest
monthly rental for a brand new or registered three wheeler. There are no
additional costs or hidden charges on this scheme.
All one needs to do is pay the initial down payment and the insurance
premium to lease a three wheeler from CF.
Central Finance will then donate Rs. 2,500, to the Api Wenuwen Api
fund for every three wheeler leased on this scheme. The three wheeler
will be delivered free of charge to any part of the island.
Central Finance is very happy with the positive response to this
scheme so far and have donated Rs. 4,272,500 for the months of July and
August. This donation was handed over to the Secretary of Defence
Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on September 14.
HNB Customer Centres open on Ramazan
Hatton National Bank will open 40 customer centres on September 21 (Ramazan
Festival Day) from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m for basic banking transactions.
This is in line with of the banks objective of providing greater
convenience to its customers.
The customer centres that will be opened on Ramazan Festival Day are:
Greenpath Branch (formerly Main Branch), Cinnamon Gardens, Aluthkade,
Maligawatte, Wellawatte, Pettah (Ex.Office), Kotahena, Kotte, Nugegoda,
Maharagama, Piliyandala, Wattala, Chilaw, Gampaha, Ja-Ela, Negombo (Ex.
Office), Nittambuwa, Kiribathgoda, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Bandarawela,
Thalawakelle (Ext. Office), Ratnapura, Jaffna, Chunnakam, Manipay (Ex.
Office), Nelliady, Vavuniya, Mannar, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Kathankudy
(Ex. Office), Kalmunai, Mathugama, Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura Dambulla,
Kurunegala and Polonnaruwa.
Munchee supports Army Athletic Meet

Ceylon Biscuits Limited, were the Main Sponsor of the 46th
Inter-regimental Athletic Meet of the Sri Lanka Army concluded at the
Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo last week. The sponsorship was under the
company's flagship brand Munchee Biscuits as an integral part of the
Company's corporate social responsibility stance to develop skills in
the area of athletics and show appreciation to the nation's war heroes
in a meaningful way.
It was the first time that the company that has been sponsoring the
event for five consecutive years, came forward to be the main sponsor.
Over 1200 competitors, including national level athletes in the Army
participated in the three-day event setting up five new meet records.
"Munchee has always been very supportive of the Army's sport
endeavours, both while the war was in progress and now when the war is
over.
We are really encouraged nd strengthened by their ready assistance
and are very appreciative of their support" said Sri Lanka Army
Athletics Association Secretary Major Manjula Perera.
Deputy Marketing Manager Theja Pieris said: "Munchee takes pride in
lending a hand to improve the quality of performance of our Army, and
sports, particularly athletics has an important role to play in
enhancing their morale and spirit and determination to succeed. We are
very proud of our Army and their success gives our brand Munchee the
synergy we seek through our sponsorship of their athletic prowess."

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), was the sponsor and the total communication
solutions provider for CounterPoint 2009, a series of presentations
organized by the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA). The
conference with the theme of 'Winning Military Strategies: Lessons for
Managers' was held on August 21 at the Hilton Colombo, with Chief of
Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka as the keynote speaker.
Organised by PIMA, CounterPoint was conducted as part of its
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs offered to
professionals. It facilitates the sharing of knowledge by top corporate
leaders for the benefit of members and other professionals in addition
to providing valuable networking opportunities. General Sarath Fonseka
gave a presentation on the military strategies that have more than
proved their success in the recent past, followed by a panel discussion
between outstanding and renowned management experts who related these
strategies to organizational contexts and thus provided their valuable
insights on how they could be applied to the corporate world.
