LTTE kingpins spill the beans
The Criminal Investigations Department, the
Terrorist Investigation Division and intelligence sleuths
investigating suicide blasts by the LTTE targeting politicians and
other VIPs, which remained a mystery for years, are in the process
of completing the investigations with revelations by Tiger cadres
arrested after the defeat of the LTTE three months back.
Resettlement: 442 families return to Mannar
The people of Mannar chased away by the LTTE in
1990 from their villages, living in IDP camps during the past 19
years, did not expect they could come back to their villages but
today they have come to their villages due to the sacrifices and
efforts made by the Armed Forces under the leadership of President
Mahinda Rajapaksa to defeat terrorists, Disaster Relief and
Resettlement Minister Rishard Bathiudeen said.
Dengue alert in North and East
People educated on precautions
The Epidemiology Unit is conducting a special
assessment on the mosquito situation in the North and East amidst
fears of a dengue outbreak in areas hitherto unaffected by the
epidemic, with the on set of the North East Monsoon, according to a
media release from the Ministry of Health and Nutrition.
