Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) Mobitel entered into a partnership with
Google to introduce “M3 Apps”. With the launch of M3 Apps, all Mobitel
customers will be entitled to register for a host of new services that
will include a suite of communication and collaborative tools, offering
among many other exciting features, an email address accessible via any
network.
The new M3 Apps is a suite of services delivered on the strength of
Mobitel’s latest 3.5G HSPA network and powered by Google.
The suite is developed and leveraged on Google’s versatile
application - suite Google Apps. Similar to Google’s Google Calendar,
Google Talk and Google Docs, M3 Apps users can manage their M3 Apps
services via a web Browser, which means access to emails, calendars,
docs and everything else, can be done from any part of the world on any
type of device that offers access to the Internet.
M3mail which comes as part of M3 Apps offers novel features to make
email more useful and offers protection using award-winning spam and
virus filtering. M3Mail provides for powerful message searching and has
in-built instant messaging.
It is accessible from any web browser and most mobile phones, and to
top it all each account has up to 7.3 GB storage capacity.
