'Vanda 100 Centenaria' orchid plant to boost economy

The Daily News collaborated in the world's first centenarian study project headed by Prof. Colvin Goonaratne.

Last week the project offered to develop the world first specially cultured exportable Vanda 100 Centenaria orchid plant dedicated to respect centenarians boost country's export earnings.

The plant is at the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, and the Centenarian Welfare and Study Association, who will meet the Garden authorities next week will issue a statement to the media giving a detailed account of this human life respecting plant development. This decision was taken at last weeks meeting of the Centenarian Association chaired by Prof. Colvin Goonaratne at the conference room of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) at Wijerama Mawatha.
