Gemidiriya links isolated villages

The Government will launch a new development program to interconnect isolated villages in the rural sector and pockets in the estate sector today. The first infrastructure sub project will be launched today in Passara in the Badulla district.

President directs probe into lapses in school test papers

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has directed Education Minister Susil Premajayantha to conduct investigations at Provincial and Zonal level into the problems which had cropped up in conducting second term tests in schools on Zonal basis and submit a report to him.

GSMB sets up three new seismological stations

Three more seismological stations equipped with modern sophisticated measuring instruments to be on the alert for earthquakes in the Indian and other oceans and other regions are being set up at Mahakanadarawa in Anuradhapura, Hakmana in the Southern Province and at the GSMB Headquarters in Colombo.
