Khadafi praises President for defeating terrorism

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is in Sharm El Sheik in Egypt to attend the 15th Non-Aligned Nations’ Heads of States Conference, met Libyan Leader Colonel Muammer Gadhafi and held a cordial discussion on Tuesday. The two leaders discussed on further strengthening the strong friendship between the two countries. They also focussed on matters which were agreed upon during President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s recent visit to Libya.

During their meeting, President Rajapaksa apprised the Libyan leader of Sri Lanka’s present situation and also the measures the Government has taken to rebuild civil life in the North and East after the defeat of terrorism.

The Libyan leader congratulated President Rajapaksa for defeating terrorism from Sri Lanka. The 15th Conference of the NAM Heads of States was inaugurated yesterday at the Maritime Congress Hall at Sharm El Sheik.
