Ruggerites banned for two years

The Board of Inquiry appointed by the Minister of Sports and Recreation Gamini Lokuge yesterday delivered the verdict on the 17 players who pulled out at the last moment from the Asian Five Nations rugby tournament held in April in Dubai.

According to the verdict decided by the Board of Inquiry the 17 players will be banned from representing the country in rugby for a period of two years with effect from July 8, 2009.
