‘Sri Lanka Rising’ - to attract export, expand market

The country will be projected under a new theme “Sri Lanka Rising” to the international market in attracting exports and expanding our markets, President, National Chamber of Exporters Sri Lanka (NCESL) Rohan Fernando said. The Chamber is working towards disseminating this simple message through our products, he said.

The World Bank has approved a US$24 million IDA credit providing further support to the Government of Sri Lanka’s health service delivery program, with particular emphasis on the special health needs in the north and east arising out of the recent conflict.

Company officers should highlight wrongdoing - Arittha Wickramanayake

Officers have a duty to highlight wrongdoing within their companies. Some responsibilities may be inferred while others are directly set out in the Companies Act or the corporate disclosure rules of the Colombo Stock Exchange, said former Director General SEC Arittha Wikramanayake outlining the duties and responsibilities of Chairmen, CEOs and Directors.

Sri Lanka Tourism launched its new logo and tagline on Tuesday at the BMICH. To mark the launch, Sri Lanka Tourism introduced value added offers for tourists. A postcard campaign was launched yesterday after the re-branding, where 250,000 post cards were distributed while a discount booklet campaign was also launched with over 50 discount offers in a booklet. Ten postcards and a discount booklet packed in a gift box will be presented to tourists arriving in Sri Lanka from yesterday for one month. In addition, a cyber competition for the blogging community will be launched for six months beginning this week. Several cultural items were staged at the launch.
