As part of its ongoing corporate social Responsibility campaign,
Bartleet Finance Ltd, has joined hands with the Young Entrepreneurs Sri
Lanka (YESL) to develop entrepreneurial skills of schoolchildren.
The company will sponsor a project that would enable young people to
develop the business skills to launch ventures of their own and compete
in the global marketplace while creating employment opportunities.
They would learn various practical aspects of free enterprise and
economics, and be self-dependant and workforce-ready when they leave
school. YESL is the franchise holder of Junior Achievement International
(JAI), the largest economic and business education program in the world.
By investing as a sponsor, Bartleet Finance would help add value to the
nation's human capital.

Asian Paints' 'Privilege Club' members tour Egypt and Dubai
Asian Paints took the company's top dealers on all - expenses - paid
tour to the ancient kingdom of Egypt and to the shopping paradise Dubai.

A group of 18 Asian Paints 'Privilege Club' members visited several
famous ancient historical sites in Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, Luxor and
Abu Simbel in Egypt and had a fun-filled shopping day in Dubai, the
company said.
The 10-day tour included visits to the National Museum, Catacombs,
Roman Theatre and Montazah Gardens in Alexandria, the great Pyramids of
Giza, the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and the Khan El Khalili Bazaars,
one of the most interesting bazaars in the whole Middle East.
The team also visited the Aswan High Dam, the unfinished Obelisk and
the temples of Philae, Ramses II, Queen Nefertari, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Queen
Hatshepsut and Karnak.
Among the other attractions that the group experienced were an
overnight Nile cruise, a 'Sound and Light show' at Karnak Temple and a
tour of the Valley of Kings.
Commenting on the tour, Asian Paints Director/General Manager Joseph
L. Pulikottil said that this was the fifth consecutive year that the
company has rewarded the company's top dealers who have consistently
achieved sales targets and promoted Asian Paints and its brands, with a
memorable overseas tour.
Members of Asian Paint's Privilege Club receive many benefits that
include overseas trips, medical insurance, special stationery,
complimentary items and other loyalty rewards.
Asian Paints' top dealers have in previous years toured India,
Thailand, Malaysia, Dubai, New Zealand, Australia, France and Spain.
GSK'S VIVA powers blood donation
Viva, a brand of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK) with the
National Blood Transfusion Service, successfully concluded a blood
donation drive recently. The VIVA blood drive reached the target of
1,000 pints of blood in the span of just 12 days.

The National Blood Transfusion Service, consisting of the Central
Blood Centre, 15 Regional Centers and other hospital based Blood Banks,
is in need of blood to meet the requirement to accommodate the routine
blood needs of the State and private hospitals.
The blood donation drive titled 'VIVA Gift of life' is the first
initiative in a series of plans to work in partnership with the National
Blood Transfusion Service to meet this national requirement. Managing
Director of GSK Sachi Thomas said, "At GSK we believe in improving the
quality of human life.
There is a national need for blood currently in the country. We are
proud to be able to assist the National Blood Transfusion Service in
this worthy cause."
He said "Our sincere gratitude lies with all those who made a
donation during the country's time of need."
Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service Dr. Ananda
Gunesekara commenting on the initiative said, "We are pleased to partner
with VIVA on this blood donation drive. It's a very commendable
initiative on the part of a corporate to take interest in this pressing
need of the hour."
Hemas Hospital launches Suwa Sathkam
Hemas Hospitals recently made its services more patient-centric and
customer-friendly with the introduction of Sri Lanka's widest array of
fixed price surgical procedures at its flagship hospital in Wattala.
The novel Suwa Sathkam scheme enables patients to undergo a
particular surgery at a fixed price. This includes all costs such as
theatre charges, surgical consumables, drugs, room charges, nursing care
and doctors' fees, together with a spacious, air-conditioned single
