Perera, Mowjood excel for Royal
Sri Lanka youth player Kusal Janith Perera hit a top score of 73 and
Haroon Mawjood claimed a five wicket haul to give Royal College a 74 run
victory over St. Peter’s College in their inter school under 19 Twenty20
tournament quarterfinal match worked off at the De Soysa Stadium in
Moratuwa yesterday.
In the other quarterfinal match Ananda College produced a fine all
round performance to beat Prince of Wales College Moratuwa by 29 runs.
The Anandians will now confront Maris Stella College Negombo and
Royal College will meet Mahinda College Galle in the two semifinals to
be worked off at the same venue today.
Royal: 176 for 9 in 20 overs (K. Perera 73, S. Hettiarachchi 57, K.
Vithanage 21, V. Perera 6 for 30).
St. Peters: 102 in 16 overs (I. Peiris 36, N. Perera 18 n.o, H.

Ananda: 140 for 9 in 20 overs (S. Wijesuriya 50, S. Devage 22, R.

Prince of Wales: 111 in 17.3 overs (N. Chamara 28, S. Jayasinghe 16,
