My Ministry will be a model - Udaya Gammanpila

Newly appointed Western Provincial Council Minister for Agriculture Development, Small-scale irrigation, Animal Production and Health, Industrial and Environmental Affairs Udaya Gammanpila assumed duties yesterday at the Ministry's office "Shrawasthri Mandira", Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Colombo 07.

Addressing Ministry officials Minister Gammanpila said that he would make his Ministry the model among other Provincial Council Ministries in the country.

Minister Gammanpila assured that he could make this achievement through the important subjects assigned to him such as Agriculture and Industrial Affairs. The Western Province serves one third of the country's population and half of the country's economy, Gammanpila said. He said the responsibility and confidence reposed in him by both President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Chief Minister will be kept in full measure.
