Japanese special envoy Yashushi Akashi met Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at his official residence yesterday afternoon and discussed about relief measures for the IDPs in the North and their security. Akashi who arrived on Thursday will leave the island today. The objective of Akashi’s tour is to assist the Sri Lankan Government in its quest for peace and to assist in the rehabilitation and restoration process.
