Fiscal system stability to be strengthened

The new Finance Companies Act and the Banking Act to regulate the banks and finance companies will strengthen the fiscal system stability in the country, Central Bank (CB) Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said.

Bank to support Government’s agricultural projects:

More BoC branches in North and East soon

The Bank of Ceylon (BoC) will set up eight branches in each province in the North and East this year under its expansion program towards the development process of the country. This will include nine ATMs in the North, seven ATMs in the East and eleven mobile units, said Chairman, Bank of Ceylon, Dr Gamini Wickramasinghe.

Arpico Finance Rights Issue oversubscribed

Arpico Finance has successfully concluded two rights issues for the year 2008/09. Both rights issues were oversubscribed raising over Rs. 80 million, increasing the Company’s liquidity and capital funds.
