The medical staff and all employees attached to the Anuradhapura
Teaching Hospital have been performing a salutary service over a period
of three decades particularly to the armed forces personnel wounded in
battle against LTTE terrorists, said North Central Province Chief
Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake when addressing a ceremony to confer
letters of appointment to 181 casual employees attached to the
Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital who have now been absorbed to the
permanent cadre.
Speaking further he said the armed forces have rescued the Mavilaru
irrigation scheme from the grip of terrorists and they brought immense
relief to all sections of the community.
Jobs have also been provided to 40,000 graduates and 50,000 are
undergoing training in nursing.
