Schools join hands to build a green Lanka
An environmental pilot project launched by the Central Environmental
Authority with 60 students from 1984 school batch has attached nearly
6,591 schools. Schoolchildren from Grade six to grade 13 have been able
to make fruitful contribution to this program, the Authority said.
These programs are aimed at deploying the students for practical
activities in an effort to make them environmental friendly citizens.
These student activists have held awareness programs in Kandy,
Kataragama, Munneswaram and Thalawila during festive seasons every year
in the past.
