Vijaya - Under 19 hockey champions

Vijaya College, Matale emerged men's hockey champions in the All Island Under 19 seven-a-side tournament conducted by Royal College Hockey Club.

Thirty two leading schools in the island took part in this tournament, Vijaya College were unbeaten in this championship. Vijaya College, Matale were the only school to clinch the men's and women's championships in the tournament's history.

Kalana Madushan Ananda, Manoj Deepal Ratnayake, Gemunu Priyadarshana Kumara, Nuwan Darshana Prematilaka and Nadun Lakshitha Weerakkody from Vijaya College were selected for Sri Lanka Senior Schools Hockey team which took part in the 51st National Men's Senior Hockey Tournament.Vijaya College team was coached by Anuruddha Herath Bandara.
