Baduraliya in innings win over NCC

Baduraliya CC created a major sensation as they toppled the more
fancied NCC outfit outright by an innings and two runs in their SLC
Premier League Tier ‘A’ tournament match concluded at Maitland Place
yesterday.
NCC who were well placed on 162 for 2 at one stage in their second
innings figured in a dramatic collapse against some splendid bowling
from Amila Prasad (4 for 45) and Amila Ratnayake (3 for 36).
NCC: 141 and 175 (D. Indika 69, C. Wijesinghe 26, A. Prasad 4 for 45,
A. Ratnayake 3 for 36).

Sajeewa bowls Colts to victory
Left arm spinner Sajeewa Weerakoon claimed a matchbag of ten wickets
for 121 to steer Colts CC to an easy innings and 68 run outright victory
over Moors SC in their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match
concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.
Weerakoon and Dilruwan Perera shared nine wickets between them as
Moors SC were dismissed for 212 runs in the first innings. Following on,
the visitors were bowled out for 222 with Weerakoon returning excellent
figures of five wickets for 78.

Moors SC: 212 (W. Fernando 33, S. Weerakoon 5 for 43, D. Perera 4 for

Vain effort by Sujeewa
Paceman Sujeewa de Silva claimed a hat-trick but his efforts were in
vain as CCC succumbed to a humiliating 148 runs outright defeat at the
hands of Bloomfield in their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ tournament
match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
De Silva snapped up the wickets of Chinthaka Jayasinghe, Shanuka
Dissanayake and Suraj Mohamed in successive deliveries to bundle out
Bloomfield for 276 runs in their second innings.
However CCC collapsed to 141 in their second innings with Tyronne
Gamage and Chinthaka Jayasinghe causing most of the damage.

Ragama CC fall short by 20 runs
Ragama CC fell short by just 20 runs from pulling off an outright
victory as their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against the
Tamil Union ended in an exciting draw at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium
yesterday.
Chasing a victory target of 211 runs Ragama CC were well on course at
one stage with opener Ian Daniel (47), Lahiru Thirimanna (54) and Indika
de Saram (60) all making useful contributions. Earlier Sajith Fernando
hit a superb 94 and Lanka de Silva made 63 to lift Tamil Union to 358
runs in their second innings after being dismissed for 207 in the first
innings.

Suresh Niroshan hit a fighting century (112) to help Chilaw Marians
SC avoid an outright defeat at the hands of the defending champions SSC
who had to be content with first innings point in their SLC Premier
League Tier ‘A’ tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.
Earlier Thilan Samaraweera stroked an elegant 111 and Kaushal Silva
hammered an unbeaten half century to help SSC extend their overall lead
to a formidable 366 runs.

Chilaw Marians SC: 186 and 274 for 6 (S. Niroshan 112, J. Gunaratne

BRC beat Saracens
Off spinner Rakitha Wimaladharma returned outstanding figures of
seven wickets for 34 to help BRC beat Saracens SC outright by six
wickets in their SLC Premier League Tier ‘B’ tournament match concluded
at Havelock Park yesterday.
Saracens SC: 250 and 136 (S. Mendis 45, G. Alwis 44, R. Wimaladharma
7 for 34).
BRC: 222 and 165 for 4 (M. Fernando 76, M. Maligaspe 47, S.
