Tougher laws for rice trade
To prevent selling same variety under different
names:
The Government has decided to bring in new
measures to prevent traders from abusing stipulated rice prices by
selling the same variety of rice under different brand names.

Air, water pollutants possible cause for rise in respiratory,
kidney diseases - Prof. Vitarana
The increase in the number of asthma,
respiratory and kidney diseases could be due to air and water
pollutants although it is not yet confirmed, Science and Technology
Minister Prof. Tissa Vitarana said.
