Default Board listings decrease

The number of listed companies, which are under the Default Board (DB) of the Colombo Stock Exchange has come down to 13 from 22 companies with the introduction of new rules and regulations for the Default Board since April 2007, Colombo Stock Market sources said.

Well-known beautician Nayana Karunaratne of Salon Nayana was the winner of the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 “ at the awards ceremony held at Galadari Hotel ,Colombo on Tuesday. The event was organised by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce for the fifth time. Karunaratne won the gold award for the Large category while Anoma Gamage of Daya Apparels and Shirani Jayasuriya of Huejay Flortculture won the Silver and Bronze awards respectively. Deputy Chairperson Ceylinco Group Cicille Kotelawela, Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Nayana Karunaratne Chairman Ceylinco Group, Lalith Kotelawela and the Chairperson Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce Ramya Weerakoon after presenting the award.
