Kingswood - Isipatana clash should be a thriller

Kingswood College Kandy will be hoping to consolidate their position in the Premier League when they take on the formidable Isipatana College team in a key Singer inter school under 20 Division One Group A rugby tournament match at Havelock Park today.

The Kingswoodians will be returning back after a well earned one week rest and with their morale high having brought down S. Thomas' College 29-7 in their previous outing at Mount Lavinia.

This means that the former 'A' division league champions will be playing their second successive match away from home. This game is even more important for Kingswood College who are one of the three teams in contention for the league title. In contrast Isipatana College will be hoping to redeem some of their lost prestige following a disappointing effort last week where they went down fighting 15-17 to S. Thomas' College at Mount Lavinia.

This time of course they will need to produce an improved performance as the Kingswoodians are a determined lot having already notched up four impressive victories. Isipatana however will have the home advantage and will be looking to put up a good performance with the conditions too very much in favour of them. Last week they just could not run the ball under wet conditions and it was a creditable achievement at least for them to reduce the margin to two points.

Kingswood College are currently on par with both the defending champions St. Peter's College and Trinity College with all three teams having lost one game each and the bonus points separating them.
