SC judgement hailed

Selling of pirated software and CDs has drastically reduced with the recent Supreme Court judgement.

Lauding the judgement, the President of the Cassette Disc Producers' Association, Swarnadasa Herath said the judgement not only safeguards the customers but also preserves the rights of the genuine artistes.

The songs and other materials produced by famous and popular artistes with great perseverance and spending large sums of money are easily copied by unscrupulous elements and marketed. In return they earn large sums of money, Herath said.
