IIGEP has overstepped bounds in going to the media - Govt. Defence Spokesman

Government Defence Affairs Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday slammed the International Independence Group of Eminent Persons for making comments to the media on the investigative process of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into alleged Human Rights Violations, without prior approval of the Commission.

Ethanol to drive Lankan cars

Leading entrepreneur suggests sugarcane cultivation:

Chairman Pelwatte Sugar Industries Ltd Ariyaseela Wickramanayake has submitted a proposal where the country's full requirement of fuel can be produced by cultivating 65,000 hectares of sugarcane while fulfilling the total requirement of sugar for the country and producing more than 150 megawatts of electricity.
