President to address Boao Forum today
CHINA: President Mahinda Rajapaksa will address the Boao Forum for
Asia (BFA) in China today. This year’s theme of the pan-Asian forum is
“Green Asia: Moving towards win-win through change”.
Boao is a coastal town and the permanent BFA site in Hainan Province,
South China. Chinese President Hu Jintao will deliver the keynote speech
at the opening ceremony today.
Foreign Heads of States and Government heads attending the opening
ceremony also include Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, Mongolian
President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete,
Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria, Tongan King Taufa’ahau Tupou
V, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim
Masimov, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabir Al-thani
and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
As a non-government, non-profit international organisation, BFA is a
forum for Government, business and academic leaders in Asia and other
continents to share opinions on pressing issues in the region and the
world.
It is committed to promoting regional economic integration and
