Uniforms for Ahadiyya teacher

The distribution of uniforms for Ahadiyya teachers organised by the Borella Ahadiyya and Islamic Educational Centre will be held at the Borella Ahadiyya Secretariat, Park Avenue, Colombo 8 today at 4.00 p.m. ITN Director Purawalar Hashim Omar will be the Chief Guest. Ahadiyya School Principal Shibly Hashim will preside.


Deyata Kirula draw on March 17

Draw of the lottery ticket Deyata Kirula will be conducted on March 17.

It was scheduled to be held on February 10.

Tickets purchased for the draw on February 10 is valid for the draw on March 17.


Inaugural ceremony

The inaugural ceremony of the 125th anniversary celebration to commemorate the arrival of Ahamed Orabi Pasha and his companions will be held under the patronage of Gehan Amin, Ambassdor of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sri Lanka at the Orabi Pasha Cultural Centre Kandy on March 8.

Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa will be the chief guest.


Opening of rural hospital

Theppanawa Rural Hospital in the Kuruvita Divisional Secretariat will be opened by Power and Energy Minister W. D. J. Senevirathne on Monday.

Chief Minister Mahipala Herath and Provincial Health Minister Lalith Dissanayake will also participate.


New building at Panadura Hospital

The new building constructed at a cost of Rs. 7 million at the P.H. Dias Memorial Kethumathie Women's Hospital, Panadura will be opened today to mark International Women's Day.

The new clinic is an outright donation by the Irish Red Cross Society in response to a request made by Dr. Ajith Dantanarayana, DMO, Kethumathie Hospital.

The project was supervised and co-ordinated by the Kalutara Red Cross Society.


YCL programme

The Youth Empowerment Division of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) will launch applications for its Young Community Leaders (YCL) programme at the institute auditorium on March 13 at 4.00 p.m. Youth Affairs Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi will be the chief guest.

The YCL programme aims to recognise an outstanding Young Community Leader and a project grant of Rs. 1 million would be awarded to the winner to further his\her community based activities.


AGM

The 55th annual general meeting of the Panadura Kuruppumulla Thrift Society will be held at the society premises, Chandrasekera Mawatha, Panadura on March 9 at 9.30 a.m. Society President S. Jayasinghe will chair the meeting.


Thalgaspitiye Muslim MV Diamond Jubilee

The Diamond Jubilee ceremony of Thalgaspitiye Muslim Maha Vidyalaya will be held on March 10 Monday at the school premises. The Chief Guest will be Chief Minister ofSabaragamuwa Province Mahipala Herath.

A new building will be opened by the Chief Minister and a commemorative magazine will be released.
