Dockyard invests Rs. 475m in technology

The Colombo Dockyard PLC is to invest Rs. 475
million for technology improvements and infrastructure development
this year. Managing Director of CDPLC Mangala P.B. Yapa said the
company expects to invest Rs. 475 million for the technology
improvement and infrastructure development.

Pramuka Bank re-opens as SL Savings Bank
The former Pramuka Bank will be re-opened in
March 10th with a new outlook as Sri Lanka Savings Bank with hundred
percent of the bank's ownership being held by government.

SLT to launch IPTV from May
For the first time, Sri Lanka Telecom will
launch Internet Protocol Television from next May. Sri Lanka is the
second country in the region after India to launch this technology.
Head of IP Broadband and Network division, Sri Lanka Telecom,
Priyanka Udugodage said that they received the licence from the
Telecom Regulatory Commission over one year and since then have been
making test transmissions.
