Air Force and Police excel at Rugby Sevens
The Sri Lanka Air Force and Police Sports Club
came up with superb displays in the Dialog Professional Rugby Sevens
concluded at Longden Place on Sunday. The Airmen under the
leadership of former Sri Lanka Sevens Poolish Suranga Arunashantha
began their campaign with a stunning 22-10 win over the strong
Policemen and followed it up with a smashing 59-0 win over Jawatte
Lions and went down fighting by 12 points to 14 to Sri Lanka Army in
their final league game to finish on top of Group 'B' in Segment
one.

Big cash awards on offer for Snooker Nationals
The 56th National Snooker Championship 2008
commenced on February 25 will continue till March 13. The
Championship is played for the U.W. Sumathipala Trophy which
sponsored by Sumathi Group of Companies for the seventh successive
year. This year's tourney played in three stages has attracted 262
cueists from Colombo 146, Kandy 51, Nuwara Eliya 44 and Galle 21.

Twenty one member pool for Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
The National Selection Committee of the SLRFU
picked a 21-member pool in preparation for the Hong Kong Rugby
Sevens which will be worked off at the Government Stadium, Hong Kong
from March 28 to 30, 2008.
