Isuru Udana accounts for Independence new babies

People’s Bank will open Isuru Udana savings accounts for every child born in the country from February 1 to 7 to commemorate the 60th National Independence Day which falls on February 4.

Assistant General Manager, Branches and Business Promotion Dr. Nihal Ranjith Jayatilake said arrangements have been made to present Rs. 500 gift vouchers under the theme “Birth of Independence”.

He said People’s Bank staff will visit hospitals including those in the North and East, and present a gift voucher and a gift parcel to mothers.

The main function will be held under the direction of Western Zone-1 of the People’s Bank at 10.00 a.m. on Monday under the leadership of Chairman W. Karunajeewa at Castle Street Hospital for Women, Colombo.

New born children in women’s hospitals islandwide will also be presented with Isuru Udana gift vouchers.
