Lanka to contain inflation between 10 to 11 per cent

Sri Lanka would be able to maintain inflation between 10 to 11 per-cent by the end of 2008, Governor Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal said yesterday. Presenting the Central Bank Road map for 2008 he said this could be achieved if there are no uncalled for external shocks such as rising oil costs and high international commodity prices.

Dockyard secures major shipbuilding orders

Colombo Dockyards Plc was able to secure six shipbuilding orders Greatship Limited worth over US $110 million following the building of its largest anchor handling tug supply vessel to the company, yesterday.

Construction Chamber facilitates trade mission to Qatar

The Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka will facilitate the visit of the second trade mission to Qatar during the second week of February. This is consequent to the satisfactory results by members of the delegation who visited Qatar during November 2007 and in view of the prevailing high demand for professional services and contracting capacities from Sri Lanka, Secretary General CCI Dakshitha Talgodapitiya said.
