SLRC Christmas programmes

The Christmas message from Pope Benedict the XVI will be telecast at 6.30 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Christmas teledrama: The National Television will telecast a Christmas teledrama on Monday, December 24 at 10.30 p.m. It is a product of the National Christian Council in collaboration with National Television. Richard Weerakody, Mercy Edirisinghe and Bertie Susiripala play the main roles.

MidNight Mass: The Christmas Night Holy Mass will be telecast live from St.Mary's Church, Pilapitiya on December 24 at 11.30 p.m. to 1.00 a.m.. His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Marius Peiris, the Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Colombo will be the chief celebrant.

Christmas Messages: Christian Pastors representing all Christian denominations coming under the banner of National Christian Council will release Christmas messages via National Television on December 25 at 6.25 a.m.; 6.55 a.m.; 7.55 a.m. and 11.55 a.m.

A film on Child Jesus: A children's film 'Child Called Jesus' will be telecast on December 24 at 12.15 p.m.

Christmas Carols: Carols to mark Christmas 2007 will be sung by the staff members of the Sri Lanka Telecom on Christmas day at 2.05 p.m..

Teledrama: Reputed vocalists (both men and women) will present "Geetha Naththala" at 3.05 p.m.

Discussion: There will be two panel discussions on the meaning of Christmas at 2.30 p.m. and 5.05 p.m. respectively on Christmas day.

Methodist Church: National Television will telecast-live Christmas day Christian Holy Mass at 4.05 p.m. from the Methodist Church at Indibedda, Moratuwa.

Teledrama: 'Upadinna Idadenna', a tele drama directed by Vijitha Manjula Sinhapruthuvi will be telecast at 9.30 p.m. on Christmas day. The drama on a script by Richard Maanamudali, includes Athula Pathirana, Anjula Rajapakse, Edward Gunawardene, Daya Alwis, Ratna Sumanapala and Richard Maanamudali.

Teledrama: 'Medona Watha' a teledrama directed by Lucian Bulathsinhala will be telecast at 10.30 p.m. on Christmas day.
