Advisor to British PM views Lanka, a safe destination

Sri Lanka is one of the safest destinations for tourists but it is sad that the security situation in the country has been exaggerated overseas by false propaganda, said Chairman of the Faith Task Force, UK Anthony Bailey in an exclusive interview with Daily News Business.

Bailey who is also the advisor to the British Prime Minister selected Sri Lanka for his honeymoon said that certain elements have tried and trying tarnish the image of the country overseas entangling the NE conflict.

“We were in Sri Lanka for 10 days and travelled to the South, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Nuwara Eliya and did not encounter any problems,” he said.

Bailey who wedded Crown Princess of Austria, Franz Ferdinand said that now he sees the reality and would want to carry the message to the other countries that Sri Lanka is a safe destination with a unique scenic beauty.

Commenting on the hotels he said that the architecture is of very high standard and are being maintained very professionally.

“The staff is an asset and the warm hospitality is another plus point,” he said.

The country has a unique spiritual harmony and closely situated temples, churches, mosques and kovils prove this point.

“This is also another message I would like to take across,” he said.
