Three LTTE child soldiers surrender

BATTICALOA: Twelve LTTE cadres including three child soldiers fleeing Thoppigala following the Tigers' military debacle surrendered to the Security Forces in Rideetenna, Kunjankulam and Ranseratenne in three separate incidents. According to a spokesman for the MCNS, eight LTTE cadres including three child soldiers surrendered at the Army check point in Rideetenna on Saturday at around 3.30 p.m.

"This was a group of LTTE cadres who were in hiding during the Security Forces operations in the dense jungle of Thoppigala and was now attempting to escape", he added.

Meanwhile, two LTTE cadres fleeing Thoppigala surrendered to the Security Forces in Kunjankulam along with a 40mm grenade launcher, three hand grenades, LTTE type jungle uniforms, an ID tag and a cyanide capsule on Sunday .
