Army Commander urges patriotic youth to come
forward to complete the mission:
Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka, who
survived an LTTE suicide attack on April 25, 2006 returned to
full-time duties on July 25, 2006. Since then, he is busy planning
military operations which have put the Sri Lanka Army in a strong
position against the LTTE. From his office in the heavily fortified
Army Headquarters, he maintains regular contact with the field
commanders in the North East.

crises. "Soft power" issues - the U.N.'s natural turf - have risen
