Sri Lankan gems and jewellery glitter in Tokyo

GEM SHOW: The National Gem and Jewellery Authority organised the "Sri
Lanka Pavilion" at the 18th International Jewellery Tokyo (IJT 2007).
This is the largest jewellery event in Japan.
It was held from January 24 to 27, at the Tokyo Big Sight, organised
by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd. A record number of 1650 exhibitors from
35 countries showcased their latest collections highlighting the latest
industry trends and directions.
Sri Lanka was represented by 11 gem and jewellery exporting
companies, who had the opportunity to promote their products among
buyers from over 35 different countries and develop successful business
relationships with counterparts in Japan and other countries.
The Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan also organised a meeting for Chairman
NGJA with Chairman Japan Jewellery Association (JJA), where matters of
mutual importance were discussed.
