Music unites Sri Lankans and raises thousands for children

London: The UK Sri Lankan Community raised 10,000 pounds for Helplanka's children's mobile library at a musical extravaganza to mark the National Day in London. The event, attended by 1000 young professionals and organised by Helplanka, was sponsored by SriLankan Airlines.

Bathiya and Santhush who are Helplanka's patrons were the main stars supported by Iraj, Ranidu, Ashanthi, Randir, Dushyanth, Killer Bee and Yauwana.

Sam Goonetillake, Chief Executive of Helplanka said;" I am very proud to say that we have raised a huge amount of money towards the mobile library and it was fantastic to see so many Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and British people enjoying music and committed to helping disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka.
