Navy foils Sea Tiger attack off Trincomalee

The Navy yesterday foiled a Sea Tiger attack killing over eight Sea Tiger cadres while inflicting heavy damage on an LTTE boat, when a Navy patrol opened fire at two Sea Tiger craft hugging the South coast off Poduwakkattu, Trincomalee.

Lanka's LTTE problem

It's appreciable that Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa is showing a sense of realism in dealing with the Tigers. There, hence, is a semblance of hope that Sri Lanka's present line of action vis-a-vis the LTTE will bear fruit in the long run, if not in the immediate future.
