'Star Flyer' calls at Colombo
SHIP. "Star Flyer" the 360-foot long super luxury clipper, berthed at
the Colombo harbour last week. The local Agents for the vessel are
Shipping Agency Services (Pvt) Ltd., a member of the Freightplan Group,
established in Sri Lanka over 20 years ago.
The vessel has been visiting Sri Lanka since 1997 and calls at the
Colombo Port twice yearly.
Aboard the "Star Flyer" one can discover the new age of sail. This
true clipper, reflects her proud heritage by every inch of its polished
brass and gleaming bright work, which blends magnificently with modern
comforts of a cruise ship. Life on board is blissfully relaxed, much
like travelling on a private yacht.
The "Star Flyer" accommodates 83 passengers and 75 crew members. Its
decor is reminiscent of the grand age of sail, with antique prints and
paintings of famous sailing ships. Teak and lustrous mahogany rails,
richly reminiscent of a clipper's proud nautical heritage, adorn this
unique vessel.
The vessel boasts of a convivial indoor and outdoor tropical bar,
piano bar and an Edwardian style library, where a Belle epoque fireplace
glows with a warmth that reflects the friendliness and enthusiasm of the
ship's hospitable officers and crew. |
