Commemorative coins, stamp to mark Buddha Jayanthi

COLOMBO: Arrangements have been made to issue 3 commemorative coins and a stamp to mark the 2550th Buddha Jayanthi celebrations this year said Religious Affairs Ministry Secretary B. N. Jayasena. The faces of the three coins will depict the imprints of the 'Sri Pada', Emperor Asoka's emblem and the lotus pond with the Dharma Chakra respectively.

The denominations of the coins will be decided later.

The coins and the stamp will be released on Vesak Poya day. The 2550th Buddha Jayanthi Emblem has been designed by ANCL Director Sanjeewa Siribaddana.
