Successful lawyer in Canada

ANUSHIKA Anthony is now domiciled in Brampton, Canada with her husband Nimal Anthony, daughter Thashali and son Dimitri.

A student of Holy Cross College, Gampaha and later excelling in Law, she migrated in 2001 and has now established her own Law firm.

No sooner she migrated Anushika successfully graduated from the University of Windsor, Canada, in 2003 and completed her Barrister-at-law the next year and was called to the Bar Association of Ontario Canada in March 2005.

Now a sole practitioner, her firm handles full service law including immigration and family law. Her work experience in Canada was at the Law office of Thora Espinet, Toronto, and is now much sought after for her expertise.

Prior to leaving for Canada Anushika worked with the attorney-at-law Berny Alwis, Gampaha and at the Legal Aid Commission, Colombo as a legal and co-ordination officer.

INSPECTOR General of Police Chandra Fernando yesterday thanked President Mahinda Rajapakse and all those who contested the Presidential election on November 17 including Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe for the assistance extended to him to conduct the election in a peaceful manner without any major incidents.
